Community History Awards 2012

MHF 2012 will deliver the first ever Manchester Community History Awards, a new prize recognising and celebrating partnerships between schools/community organisations and either an archive/gallery/library/museum or university that explore a history theme.

Manchester Histories Festival is delighted to be launching the first ever Manchester Community History Awards.

The winning Awards will be chosen by a Panel of six Judges, Chaired by BBC North west Tonight's Ranvir Singh, and presented at a ceremony in Manchester Town Hall on Friday 2 March 2012 from 2.30 – 3.30pm.

The two categories for the Awards are:

  • School History Award – for partnerships with a school
    Winning Prize: £750 plus two Judges recommended prizes of £250 each

  • Community History Award – for partnerships with a community group.
    Winning Prize: £750 plus two Judges recommended prizes of £250 each

The deadline for applying to the Awards has now passed and we will be announcing the shortlist very soon. We'd like to wish the best of luck to all applicants.
