Manchester Histories Festival

51 Turner Street

51 Turner Street houses a number of businesses including a software company, design agency and florist. In Victorian times, this area of the Northern Quarter was home to exotic animals andpet shops drew crowds to see creatures from all over the world.

The birds of paradise on the side of this building pay tribute to this history and provide current residents and visitors with a striking view.

‘We are also currently home to some monkeys and a frog…’
