When Manchester City formed as St. Mark's (West Gorton) in 1880 they wore a white cross on their shirts to show their support for the “Muscular Christianity” movement. When the company secretary of Manchester United went to the bank to draw out the wages in December 1930 he was told the club had no money. Manchester’s football history is full of such strange stories.
Tour lead by Ed Glinert from New Manchester Walks.
