Manchester Histories Festival

3 - 12 June 2016

Instruments of Industry

A new exhibition from Hannah Leighton Boyce, a Manchester-based contemporary artist, who has carried out research and created a new sound based art installation, Instruments of Industry in response to Touchstones Rochdale's archive, collections and location.

Instruments of Industry approaches the tool as an extension of ourselves; our contact, relationship to and being in the world.

The exhibition draws on the connection between the museum's collection of trade tools and their resting place: Thomas Robinson & Sons, a former engineering works which now houses the archives.

You can find out more about Hannah's work on her website or follow her on Twitter at @HannahL_B
