Manchester Histories Festival - 21 - 30 March 2014

The Military History of Manchester

Tim Cockitt will give a broad, and humorous, outline of Manchester’s military history … to include Romans, Vikings, possibly Dr. John Dee (occultist and spy), Righteous Roundheads, Rebellious Jacobites, a WW1 PoW, an airship, a V1, assorted Nazis … and the secret nuclear bunker … and most of it true!

The South Manchester Tactical Society are presenting this extra lecture in its annual programme to coincide with the Manchester Histories Festival.
