When Cotton was King, Sam Fitton’s weekly cartoons in the union newspaper Cotton Factory Times, provided a wry and unique commentary on the workplace struggles and everyday lives of the men, women and children who worked in its mills.
The exhibition features cartoons of the Lancashire cotton industry in the early 20th century, drawn by Sam Fitton, a former cotton operative.
