Do you want to find out what people used to eat in Manchester? Then join Robert Owen-Brown for his heritage food demonstrations at MHF's Celebration Day in Manchester Town Hall.
Robert will provide three FREE demonstrations featuring traditional dishes from the past that would have sustained the mill workers and gentry of our industrial heritage. You will even get to sample some of them on the day.
Demonstrations are at 10.30am, 12.30pm and 2.15pm in the Banqueting Room in Manchester Town Hall.
Robert Owen Brown is Executive Head Chef at The Mark Addy and states “From the cockles and oysters of Cumbria, through to the meats and cheeses of Lancashire and Cheshire, the North West has some of the finest ingredients around, so it’s no surprise that the region is renowned for its cookery and has contributed more than its fair share of dishes on tables across the nation.''
You can also order a FREE copy of A Taste of Modern History, a recipe book that Robert has produced with Modern History and discover what dishes fuelled the North West while it was changing the world.
The book also includes suggestions from the general public who were asked to provide their old family recipes plus a recipe from Robert.
