Manchester Histories invites anyone interested in involved in histories and heritage, who wants to develop and build new relationships with individuals and organisations, and share skills and experience to the Greater Manchester Histories and Heritage Social Network event from 6:00pm (until 7:30pm) on Monday 6th June 2016 at Manchester Central Library.
The Network offers a valuable opportunity to meet, chat and build new connections with people and groups who are passionate about and take part in Greater Manchester histories and heritage projects. In the long term, we plan to provide opportunities for skills sharing, talks and training.
Enthusiasts and historians, staff from cultural venues, community groups and volunteers, academics and students, school teachers, librarians, curators and more are all invited to attend this event.
Based on feedback from the previous event in March in Cehtham's Library we'll be providing a more formal opportunity for you to meet people interested in similar areas of research or project development, and provide the change to build potential new partnerships.
Whist we're in Manchester Central Library, Dave Govier from Archives+ will also give a short presentation on the services and resources that are available for you to use in the archives.
As it's Manchester Histories Festival, we'd also like to invite you to join us for more informal drinks around some of the historical pubs of Manchester once the Network has ended.
The Network is part of Manchester Histories' Hidden Histories, Hidden Historiansproject supproted by the Heritage Lottery Fund to develop new ways of accessing histories and heritage, and showcasing those less familiar or unrecognised stories.
