During the Festival, the church will be open to visitors to see the exhibits in the body of the church. Planned exhibits include:
‘from swaddling clothes to winding sheet’ – all human life is there
‘cleansed in the waters of baptism’ – textiles in cleaning and the fight against grime
‘now I lay me down to sleep’ – bedding and comfort
‘Satan finds work for idle hands’ – an ironic look at textiles and crafts
‘who makes me dwell in safety’ – the home and domestic textiles
‘healing and sight’ – textiles used to heal and support
‘spreading the word’ – banners, and textiles used in giving a message
And on Saturday 4th March: Hearts and Garments: a chance to join in a Mending Event: bring buttons, socks, mending or altering of every sort and re-discover lost skills!
