12 sumptuous paintings revealing the history of Manchester: from the Romans building a fort in Castlefield, the expulsion of the Danish invaders in the 9th century and the arrival of Flemish weavers to aid the local textile economy in the 14th century to the great achievements of the industrial and scientific eras.
These are Ford Madox Brown’s masterpieces, the story of Manchester in oil on canvas.
Join guide Ed Glinert from New Manchester Walks.
