Brought to you by Manchester's Victorian Society, the Victorian Magic Lantern show depicts the construction of the Manchester Ship Canal through an exploration of original photographs and a presentation from Glen Atkinson.
Glen Atkinson is a retired engineer who has worked on canal and railway restoration projects and a local historiann specialising in industrial archaeology. Sharing his knowledge, he will take you through original slides taken by a photographer working for the Ship Canal company, and show Victorian civil engineering practices in detail.
